What is a SIP panel
A SIP panel (Structural Insulated Panel) is a three-layer "sandwich": two OSB (oriented strand board) facings on the outside and an expanded polystyrene (EPS) core inside. The panel works as a load-bearing wall, insulation, and finish substrate all at once — light, strong, and energy efficient.

Panels for your house kit are cut and glued at our own factory in Romania, not outsourced to a third party. We control the adhesive, OSB thickness, and foam density on every panel — which is why we can stand behind the timeline and quality of assembly.

Frequently asked questions
How strong is a SIP house?
A SIP panel is a monolithic structure: the OSB acts as the load-bearing layer and the polystyrene as a rigid core. The panel withstands loads of up to 1.5 tonnes per m² and holds up to wind, snow load, and seismic movement.
Will mold or condensation form in the walls?
Mold and condensation come from assembly mistakes and poor ventilation, not the material itself. We seal every panel joint and offer ventilation solutions, including heat-recovery units — follow a few simple care rules and moisture won't be an issue.
Does SIP burn like ordinary foam?
We use self-extinguishing polystyrene, and the panel is protected on both sides by OSB boards and the finish — an open flame doesn't reach the insulation directly. We also build in fire-safety measures: wiring in protected conduits and fire-resistant materials indoors.
How long does a SIP house last?
Assembled correctly and protected from moisture, a SIP house lasts 50 years or more — panels don't settle, crack, or lose their insulating performance over decades. We use an adhesive that stays flexible for the panel's full lifespan and prevents delamination.
How warm is it in winter and cool in summer?
A 150 mm SIP wall has thermal conductivity comparable to a brick wall over 2 metres thick. That means heating savings of up to 60% — and in summer, many clients don't need air conditioning at all: airing the house out at night is enough.
Why is SIP faster and often cheaper than timber frame or block?
Panels are manufactured ahead of time at the factory, so the site work is just assembly — no "wet" processes like concrete or plaster, so building can continue year-round. The shell goes up in 2–4 weeks, and the whole cycle — from deposit and ready permits to the keys — takes about 3 months. With a lighter foundation, fewer work stages, and heating savings, a SIP house ends up costing no more, and often less, than a block or timber-frame house of the same quality.
Can you hear everything through a SIP wall?
The panel itself damps impact noise well. For airborne sound between rooms we use stud partitions with mineral wool and insulate the floors — that keeps the house comfortable for everyday living.
Is the SIP panel toxic?
All materials are certified: the polystyrene is inert and doesn't release harmful substances inside a closed panel, and the OSB's formaldehyde level stays within European norms (E0–E1).
Warranty and care
We provide a warranty on the load-bearing structure and thermal insulation of the house — the exact term is set out in the contract at the consultation stage. A few simple rules keep the house lasting:
- Don't cut, drill, or move the foundation's load-bearing piles without consulting our specialists.
- Don't remove or relocate load-bearing SIP wall or partition panels yourself — every opening or change is engineered with reinforcement.
- Install heating appliances (fireplaces, stoves, underfloor heating) and run chimney flues only after checking with us first.
- Seal every wall penetration for utilities — air conditioning, plumbing, and others — completely airtight.
